Jeremy Levison Chairman (G69)

Jeremy was at Charterhouse between 1965 and 1969. His artistic talents, such as they were at the time, were of the musical (he still plays the violin) rather than the visual variety. He is not proud of the fact that in his school days he hardly even knew the location of “Studio”.

With no creative artistic ability, nobody is more surprised than Jeremy himself to find himself, all of these years later, as a passionate art collector with a keen interest in contemporary (mostly figurative) British art.

Having spent his working life as a specialist divorce and family law solicitor, Jeremy was responsible some 20 years ago for the creation of the Collyer-Bristow gallery. Having moved in 1998 to set up his own law practice (Levison Meltzer Pigott) Jeremy now has an office crammed with works of art.

In addition, Jeremy is the owner of the prestigious "Art Bermondsey Gallery", which he set up in 2014, and which forms the location for the London leg of the biennial OCAS art exhibition.

Peter Burgess Hon Secretary (g80)

Peter Burgess, who paints under the name illesley, trained in New Media at the Royal College of Art and went on to study painting with Patrick Gozzo in Aquitaine, France. He has won several prizes for his painting and other work. Peter lives and paints in West London. His work is in collections in the United States, France, and the UK.

Jonathan Luke Treasurer (R80)

Jonathan is a full time multimedia artist living and working in Wimbledon. He is a frequent visitor to Scotland and Russia, which is often evident in his work. He works frequently with abstract themes, with finished pieces usually either oil paintings or small edition prints combining photography, painting and projection.

His work is exhibited and held in collections widely across the UK and in Russia. In 2013 a large solo exhibition of his work was held at the Russian Academy of Arts (in conjunction with the Moscow Museum of Modern Art).  Jonathan is also a Chartered Management Accountant.

Jane Allison Exhibition Curator (S77)

Jane Allison studied at Chelsea School of Art and at The Slade School of Fine Art and has painted  many distinguished members of the government, industry, commerce, medicine and the academic and legal professions. She has exhibited widely, including with the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and , as a prizewinner, in the Bp Portrait Award and also has work in numerous private and public collections including the Queen’s collection at Windsor , the Royal College of Surgeons in both London and Edinburgh , the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Royal College of Veterinary surgeons , The Royal Institute, the Royal Society of Medicine, the University of Surrey and several regiments and public schools.

Belinda Knox

Author and photographer Belinda Knox has always been inspired by landscapes.  Never far from her camera, she also loves long walks in the countryside – a passion which has led to three photographic books – The South Downs Way, The North Downs Way and the Magic of the West Highland Way.    Light, the lyricism of nature and the absurdity of life all hold her interest and influence her work.

Her family has long been associated with Charterhouse – she has sixty relations who have been through the school in the last three centuries and she spent ten years at the helm of the OC Club Office.

Robert Dunt Web Master (B89)

Robert Dunt is an abstract/pop art artist who graduated from City & Guilds of London Art School (2004) with First Class honours. His painting, prints and installations are inspired by music and explore the use of colour in a contemporary context. His practice has a rebel ethic that distorts art traditions in order to create surprising and original works: “Like putting Botticelli’s Venus through a Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face distortion pedal.”

Anna Monkman

Anna Monkman left Charterhouse in 2015 to complete an Art & Design foundation course at Kingston School of Art, followed by a Fine Art Degree at Goldsmiths, University of London. She graduated from Goldsmiths with a First Class degree in 2019. Her practise is focused on digital film work exploring themes of temporality, the absurd and the mundane. She is currently developing a career in visual effects.
