THE OLD CARTHUSIAN ART SOCIETY

Friday 31st March Tate Visit and Dinner

On Friday 31st March 2017 OCAS held their yearly dinner. This began with a late afternoon visit and tour of the new wing of Tate Modern, led by ArtTop10.com founder Robert Dunt (B89).

All 27 members of the tour were involved in producing an "OCAS Artwork" as the tour focused on the interactive and participatory sections of the new wing of the Tate. This involved a recreation of the art work "Time" by David Lamelas, experiencing the inside of the work "Pavillion Suspended in a Room" by Christina Iglesias and constructing a building with the work "Draft Room" by Meschac Gaba.

This was followed by a feast at 2016 Open Table Diners’ Choice winner "The Table", located directly opposite Tate Modern. During the dinner Dominique Brewster of the Royal Photographic Society gave a fascinating speech about her superb photography portraits.
